What is HIP
Based in Phoenix, HIP (Hospitality Industry Professionals)
is a non-profit (LTD), organization for professionals involved in the
hospitality, restaurant and event planning industries and provides numerous
networking and educational opportunities at their monthly mixers around the
Valley. HIP consists of over 150 members, including many leading hotel and
resort catering managers, restaurant managers and social and corporate event
planners. The organization also hosts a prestigious yearly awards ceremony
honoring the Valley’s “HIPpest” resort, restaurant/venue and event planner
for their excellence in providing outstanding service, unique facilities and
innovative events.
HIP’s success can be attributed to founders
MaryLynne Christman, Keri Mahoney, Sloane Hansen and Jenny Patton. Christman
states, “When we started the organization in 2003, we wanted to create a
monthly social gathering with peers to exchange ideas in a casual and
relaxed environment. HIP has gone beyond my wildest dreams with properties
all over town wanting to become involved. The experience has been extremely
gratifying.”
